Judy
Boychuk Duchscher
Judy Boychuk Duchscher is the Executive Director
of Nursing the Future, a non-profit nursing organization
that serves as a bridge between the ideals taught
in undergraduate nursing education and the realities
of the ‘real’ world of professional practice.
She currently teaches at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels, maintaining a faculty position at
the Saskatchewan Institute for Applied Science and
Technology in Saskatoon. Judy’s presentation
provides a framework within which stage-specific strategies
to reduce the stress of the new nurses initial professional
socialization period can be most effectively implemented.

Spinks
Nora Spinks, President of Work-Life Harmony Enterprises
is an internationally recognized leader in work-life
and well-being, organizational development and human
resources management, has extensive experience working
with professional services. Nora will offer insight,
provide information and share best practices for managing,
motivating and retaining a diverse workforce. |

Ginette Rodger
Ginette Rodger is the Vice President, Professional
Practice and Chief Nursing Executive at The Ottawa
Hospital, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute
and the Past President of the Canadian Nurses Association.
She has received numerous awards for her work as an
administrator and this year the Governor General of
Canada announced her investiture as Officer of the
Order of Canada. Ginette’s presentation will
highlight The Ottawa Hospital’s journey with
new nurse integration. |

Brian Keating
Brian Keating, Head of Conservation Outreach at the
Calgary Zoo, is an adventurer, world traveler, and
leader of some 60 expeditions to remote locations
world-wide. He is a best selling author, publishing
children’s books under his Amazing Animal Adventure
series. In January 2006, Brian received the distinguished
“Canadian Hero of the Year” award from
Readers Digest Magazine for his global environmental
efforts, and the Alberta Centennial Medal Award in
recognition of “outstanding work for the communities
and province of Alberta”. Brian will explore
a remarkable real-life historic story that has excellent
parallels to the need for team work and flexibility
in any setting. |
